
The festival began with a Mass led by Bishop Aldo Berardi, O.S.S.T., Apostolic Vicar of Northern Arabia. A diverse group of co-celebrants also participated in the Mass. Following the religious ceremony, attendees were treated to a lively program featuring cultural performances. One of the main attractions of the event was a street dance competition showcasing the Ati-Atihan, Dinagyang, and Sinulog styles.
Global Bisdak Bahrain claimed the top spot in all categories, according to the judges' evaluations. The KIB/ATDC Warriors and El Shaddai Gospel Dancers – Bahrain Chapter secured the second and third places, respectively. The festival this year introduced a new highlight: the Grand Sto. The energetic performances of the participants enthralled the audience and highlighted the historical importance of the festival.
Noteworthy groups that participated in the competition included El Shaddai Gospel Dancers – Bahrain Chapter, Global Bisdak Bahrain, The Guardians Tribe Bahrain, KIB/ATDC Warriors, and the Legion of Mary Sinulog Group. The Sto. Niño Festival 2025 was a success, reflecting the strong community bonds and cultural heritage of Filipinos living abroad.
Liezel Delante, a performer at the festival, shared, “For me, it is not just about celebrating the tradition but a time to come together, share our faith, and strengthen our community ties.” Children proudly carried Santo Niño statues during the procession, joined by current and former Hermanas/Hermanos and parishioners.
The event drew a large crowd, including Her Excellency Anne Jalando-on Louis, Philippine Ambassador to Bahrain. As the celebration progressed, it evolved into more than a religious event, becoming a platform for unity and cultural pride among the Filipino community in Bahrain. The festival, organized by the Filipino Catholic Community in Bahrain, was a testament to the faith and cultural traditions cherished by the community.
The grand event concluded with the awarding of the Sto. Niño Queen Bahrain 2025 title to Lilibeth Donayre of Global Bisdak Bahrain. Approximately 2,000 parishioners gathered at the festivity, bringing together faith and cultural heritage in a joyous and vibrant celebration. The festival was led by Spiritual Director Rev. Cecil V. Ancheta, Filipino Writers’ Circle, and Coordinator Bro. Ulysses Dela Cruz, under the guidance of Fr. Anthony Almazan, OFM Cap.
