The General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force has announced a ban on photographing or publishing defence operations, unit locations, or movements of military equipment and systems. This is to ensure the security and safety of the Kingdom of Bahrain and to safeguard its supreme interests amid the current exceptional circumstances and the blatant Iranian aggression. The ban is based on Article 17-bis of the 2002 Military Justice Law and Article 135 of the 1976 Penal Code. The Bahrain Defence Force confirmed the ban on photographing, publishing, or redistributing any photos, video clips, recordings, or information related to its military sites, military operations, and defence measures. The ban also extends to promoting unreliable information or fabricated content using modern technology concerning events, attacks, and aggressions targeting the nation, through traditional media, digital platforms, and social media, whether directly or indirectly. The Command clarified that this ban includes anything that could endanger national security, facilitate targeting military installations or vital assets under the Bahrain Defence Force, or negatively affect the course of ongoing defence operations due to the potential harm to the safety of the forces, the country, and its citizens and residents. The Bahrain Defence Force stressed that violating this statement constitutes a clear violation of the laws and regulations in force in the Kingdom, and violators will be held legally accountable and prosecuted in accordance with the law. The Bahrain Defence Force urged all citizens and residents to shoulder their national responsibilities, fully comply with these instructions, and obtain information exclusively from official and accredited sources. It also called for a complete avoidance of military sites and convoys in support of national efforts to protect the nation, preserve its security and stability, and ensure everyone's safety.
