The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has renewed its strong condemnation and rejection of the continued Iranian aggressions against its member states. These aggressions include the deliberate targeting of infrastructure and oil facilities, constituting a blatant violation of international law and norms, and a direct threat to the region's security and stability and the integrity of global energy supplies. Jassim Mohamed Al-Badiawi, Secretary-General of the GCC, stated that the continuation of these attacks clearly reveals the Iranian government's escalatory approach towards GCC states and constitutes a rejected aggressive act that undermines de-escalation efforts and threatens regional and international security. He stressed that Iranian claims attempting to hold GCC states responsible for any military operations are baseless and categorically rejected, lacking any foundation in truth. He pointed out that GCC states adhere to firm policies based on respecting state sovereignty, non-interference in internal affairs, and promoting regional and international security and peace, affirming that they retain their full right, guaranteed under Article 51 of the UN Charter and international law, to take all necessary measures and actions to protect their security and stability, safeguard their resources and wealth, and respond to these aggressions. The Council called on the international community to assume its responsibility in condemning the aggressions, take a firm and deterrent stance, and work to compel Iran to immediately comply with UN Security Council Resolution 2817 of 2026, contributing to the cessation of these violations and the preservation of regional stability. He affirmed the unity of GCC states and their full solidarity in facing any threat to their security and interests, reiterating their firm commitment to joint action to enhance regional stability and achieve peace for their peoples.
