The Attorney General, head of the Terrorism Prosecution Office, in the Kingdom of Bahrain announced that the Public Prosecutor has decided to refer 14 defendants in four cases to the Criminal Court. Among them are several fugitives in Iran, who formed separate cells in three of these cases, including a female defendant in the fourth case. The Attorney General, head of the Terrorism Prosecution Office, stated in a statement carried by the Bahrain News Agency that the Public Prosecutor ordered the referral of the defendants after it was proven that they had committed the crimes of conspiring and colluding with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps with the aim of carrying out hostile and military acts against the Kingdom of Bahrain, as well as supporting it in its hostile activities, in addition to receiving and delivering funds to support these operations, and one of them receiving military training in the camps of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps. He stated that the charges included disseminating information considered a state defense secret, as well as spreading false news and rumors with the aim of spreading panic among citizens and residents, in addition to promoting hostile acts targeting the Kingdom, glorifying them, and inciting them, alongside monitoring and photographing a number of vital facilities and gathering information about them in preparation for targeting them. He confirmed that these defendants carried out the tasks assigned to them and sent the photos and information they obtained to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, which used them to carry out its hostile operations against the Kingdom, targeting buildings and facilities in Bahrain during these operations. The Public Prosecution began interrogating the defendants and conducting extensive and intensive investigations. Some of them confessed in detail to the charges against them. It also listened to the witnesses' statements and ordered the examination of the technical devices used in committing the aforementioned incidents, which concluded that they had committed the crimes attributed to them. Based on the investigations' findings and the gathered information, the Public Prosecution ordered the arrest of the defendants and their referral to trial before the High Criminal Court.
Bahrain: 14 Defendants Referred to Court in Terrorism Cases
Bahrain's Attorney General has referred 14 defendants to criminal court in four terrorism cases. The suspects are accused of colluding with Iran to carry out hostile acts against the kingdom.
