46th GCC Summit Concludes in Bahrain

Today, at Al-Sakhir Palace, the 46th Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit concluded under the chairmanship of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain. The summit saw the participation of the leaders of GCC member states and heads of delegations. In his closing speech, King of Bahrain affirmed the Council's commitment to enhancing Gulf cooperation, fortifying regional security, and completing economic integration projects. He stressed the importance of advancing in the areas of food and water security, the digital economy, and continuing political efforts to achieve regional stability, foremost among them being the support for a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause. The Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, also delivered a speech, expressing her country's appreciation for the strategic partnership with GCC countries. She confirmed Italy's support for strengthening regional security and expanding economic and technical cooperation, especially in clean energy, digital transformation, and maritime security, emphasizing the importance of the Gulf's role in regional stability. The Secretary-General of the GCC, Jasim Mohammad Al-Budaiwi, presented a review of the key achievements of 2025, pointing to progress in economic integration projects, the development of a common security and defense system, and the implementation of international partnership programs. He also highlighted the unified efforts of GCC member states in facing recent regional challenges and reaffirmed the steadfastness of the Gulf's position in support of the Palestinian cause. The summit concluded with a reaffirmation of the commitment to continue joint coordination, enhance institutional work, and support paths of integration and cooperation to achieve development and prosperity for the peoples of the member states.
