Bahrain Condemns Drone Attacks from Iraqi Territory

Bahrain's Foreign Ministry summoned an Iraqi diplomat and handed him a protest note regarding ongoing drone attacks originating from Iraq. Bahrain insists that Iraq urgently and responsibly respond to these threats in accordance with international law.

Manama — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain today summoned the Charge d'Affaires of the Republic of Iraq to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Mr. Ahmad Ismail Al-Kuraie, and informed him of the Kingdom's firm condemnation and strong rejection of the continued malicious drone attacks emanating from Iraqi territory towards the Kingdom and a number of Gulf Cooperation Council countries. Ambassador Sheikh Abdullah bin Ali Al-Khalifa, Director General of Bilateral Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, handed the Iraqi Charge d'Affairs an official protest note in this regard, emphasizing the importance of the Republic of Iraq dealing with these threats and attacks in an urgent and responsible manner, in accordance with relevant international and regional laws and charters, and affirming the Kingdom's right to take all necessary precautions and measures to preserve its security, stability, and the safety of its citizens and residents on its land.
