A meeting of representatives of the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) was held in the capital of Bahrain, Manama. Organization leaders discussed the state and directions of development in the Islamic finance industry. Special attention was given to the review and improvement of standards in this area. The organization also held discussions on issues related to the regulation and control of this sector's activities.
"We strive for the improvement of standards to increase transparency and gain trust in this industry," noted one of the representatives of AAOIFI.
