Emirates Airlines announced yesterday that it transported 7.86 million passengers between Dubai and Bahrain since the launch of its services to Bahrain on January 25, 2000. This was prompted by the airline celebrating the 25th anniversary of its operations in Bahrain. During this time, events were held, attended by the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications of Bahrain, Dr. Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Vice President of Passenger Sales and International Management at Emirates Airlines, Nabil Sultan, Emirates Airlines Director in Bahrain, Rima Al Marzooki, and a number of high-ranking government officials, commercial partners, and contractors.
Nabil Sultan stated: "Celebrating 25 years of our flights in Bahrain, we thank our partners and clients for their unwavering support." He added: "Bahrain is a key point in our route network, and we eagerly anticipate the continuation of our cooperation to support trade and tourism, and to ensure our commitment to 'constant quality' for our passengers in and out of Bahrain."
For a quarter of a century, Emirates' operations in Bahrain have seen significant growth, from two flights a day on a mixed fleet of Airbus A300, A310, and A330 to 22 weekly flights on a modern fleet of Airbus A350 and Boeing 777, providing around 7000 seats in each direction. Additionally, the company operated the A380 aircraft in exceptional cases to accommodate peak hour demand and to celebrate National Coral Day, as well as showcase its unique products onboard during the International Aviation Exhibition in Bahrain.
In addition to passenger services, Emirates SkyCargo has made its contribution to commercial coral services, transporting over 146,600 tons of cargo to and from Bahrain in the last five years, primarily through cargo passenger flights.
