Last week, Alpine decided that both Colapinto and his teammate, Frenchman Pierre Gasly, would run one session each on Wednesday, while the Frenchman contested both on Thursday and the Argentine both on Friday. Colapinto is having a very good preseason, which began a couple of weeks ago in Barcelona, and although they were private, Agencia Noticias Argentina learned that the Argentine achieved very good results and gained confidence in his A526. As for the sessions in Bahrain, everything started out very difficult for Colapinto, who finished last on Wednesday, although he bounced back significantly on Friday to finish eighth and even completed over 140 laps. Thanks to the good development the A526 seems to have and the comfort Colapinto demonstrates at the wheel, 2026 looks to be much better than 2025, where the Argentine competed in 18 Grands Prix and was the only driver, alongside Australian Jack Doohan, who failed to score points. The 2026 Formula 1 season will officially begin in early March, with the Australian Grand Prix at the Albert Park circuit in the city of Melbourne. The first session will be from 4 to 8 AM (Argentina time), then the drivers will have an hour's break and will return to the track between 9 AM and 1 PM.
